DAVET

DAVET has built a strong reputation as a provider of horticultural inputs in Bugesera, through our collaboration with the African Evangelist Enterprise where we monitored local chili fields and observed adherence to strict quality levels expected by European markets. Since 2015, DAVET has worked with several NGOs in Bugesera, focusing on training farmers on good horticultural farming practices. The company itself currently farms French beans (export), green bananas, chia seeds and macadamia nuts in Kamonyi and Bugesera. A close working relationship has been formed with two local exporters, to whom we provide chili and French beans. DAVET also acts as a ‘trade facilitator’ by connecting smallholder farmers to other exporters. Today, DAVET is known as a trusted source of agricultural inputs and knowledge on horticulture farming practices in Rwanda. This has developed into one of our main product offerings, providing farmers with technical assistance, ranging from safe use of inputs to post-harvest handling.
