Born in 1986, David Irwin grew up in Northern Ireland before moving to the North East of England to study furniture design. After graduating in Three-Dimensional Design from Northumbria University in 2007, he completed a fellowship in the Designers in Residence Programme at Northumbria's School of Design in 2010. In 2011, he established his own design studio in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
