A health care & professional regulatory management consultancy owned and founded by David Kay fostering organizational, governance & professional regulatory improvement. • Consultant with Accreditation Canada’s EQual program as an Accreditation Specialist shepherding a portfolio of health education programs through the multi-year accreditation cycle from onboarding, preparing for self-assessment, conducting the off-site and on-site accreditation reviews, and annual reporting analysis. (2022-) • Supported two health education programs for paramedical and general diagnostic sonography in N.B. and Ontario in their efforts to achieve accreditation status with Accreditation Canada’s EQual program (2022). • Conducted a governance and operational review for the College of Acupuncturists of Alberta to position the College for continuous improvement and demonstrable results promoting the public interest and public safety (2021). Assisted the College Council recruit a new Executive Director/Registrar, functioned as interim Executive Director/Registrar and Hearings Director, assisted with the onboarding of the new Executive Director/Registrar, assisted with the implementation of the governance and operational review report recommendations, facilitated a Council strategic planning workshop leading to a new strategic plan (2021-2022). Provided ongoing advisory services (2021-2022). • Developed an implementation plan for a new regulated profession under the Health Professions Act (HPA) to bring to life the College of Counselling Therapy of Alberta (2019). Provided ongoing advisory services (2019-2020). • Worked as a project manager for Alberta Health (AH) and later for Alberta Health Services (AHS)-Alberta Medical Association (AMA) to develop and implement the inaugural province-wide AHS medical staff bylaws and rules supporting 8,000 professionals (2010-2012).
