The Davidson Investment and Financial Association manages $750,000 of Davidson College's endowment. The student-run club was founded on the principles of education and the College's need for an effective and unique way to educate the student body about the equity markets.
Investment Goal:
The investment goal of the Davidson Investment and Finance Association (DIFA) is to maximize total return of the portfolio while minimizing exposure to excessive risk and volatility. Performance will be measured against the S&P 500 benchmark, with the goal being to outperform the index. To facilitate the above stated goal, and to educate the Davidson College campus, DIFA seeks to teach the fundamentals of investing to all interested students.
Mission Statement:
The Davidson Investment and Finance Association seeks to expand the range of learning experiences to include hands-on experience with financial markets and opportunities to meet professionals in the field of finance. Student-led and run, the club manages over $600,000 of the college's endowment to promote member responsibility and education with a secondary goal of maximizing return and minimizing risk.
