Day of Wrk

You know how none of us really know what job titles actually mean? Well, this is a big issue because young people have to rely on jargon-filled job specs which leads to them not having the confidence to apply for a certain job. And this disproportionately affects those from underrepresented backgrounds as they tend not to have the networks to use as a resource. So Day of Wrk is a solution to this. It’s an initiative aimed at helping disadvantaged young people understand what various jobs truly entail, through authentic and personable day-in-the-life stories. So when someone sees a job role and they don’t know what that job title actually means, they can go on Day of Wrk and see a story from someone in that role. There’s also another aim for Day of Wrk, which is all around visual representation. Each contributor is from an ethnic minority, with the aim being that these people will inspire those who don’t see themselves represented traditionally.
