🎬 With 18 Emmy Awards and 50+ years of impact, DCTV is one of NYC’s most influential nonprofit media centers and a unique place where documentary storytelling, media literacy and community power come together.
Based in a historic 1895 firehouse in Chinatown/Tribeca, we work with storytellers from their first camera to their first screening, and beyond. In doing so, we provides consistent access to training, storytelling, and public platforms.
DCTV collaborates with young people across the city through our free programs for NYC teens, gives hands-on workshops for creatives and hosts bold screenings and Q&As with filmmakers at Firehouse, our cinema for documentary film. We also provide affordable venue rentals for shoots, events, and more.
At the heart of our mission is equity: making high-quality media arts education and professional tools available to everyone, regardless of background or income.
