D-Day In Hong Kong

D-Day In Hong Kong company information, Employees & Contact Information

The setup of the D-Day in Hong Kong project group was inspired by the discovery of a diary and a trove of family letters by chance in a building slated for demolition in Hong Kong. These documents belonged to Lam Ping-yu, a lieutenant and one of 24 Chinese naval officers sent to Britain for military training in 1943. The diary reveals the journey of how Lam and his compatriots found themselves fighting on the shorelines of Normandy in the D-Day Landings - their very first mission on European soil. A series of public-facing exhibitions and talks featuring international D-Day, War and History experts is scheduled to span across Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, and beyond.
