Deakin Engineering Society (DES)

The Deakin Engineering Society was established in 1994 by students to foster a sense of community amongst Engineering students at Deakin Waurn Ponds. Since then DES has been run by students, for students and aims to foster an inclusive social culture at Deakin. Affiliated with the Deakin University Student Association DES receives funding from members, DUSA and the School of Engineering. We run a mix of social and professional events with our key professional event, the Annual Industry Dinner, attracting up to 200 industry representatives and students from across Geelong.
