DeAmicis Studios is an established art company featuring the whimsical creations of its founder, John DeAmicis. John’s drawings and illustrations have been compared to Charles Bragg and Daumier. He depicted his unusual interpretations of common situations and clichés by creating complex and sophisticated satirical art pieces. Fanciful lines flowed from his pens and pencils in an antic parade. A keen observer of life, John tended to zero-in on society’s idiosyncratic elements when practicing his brand. A member of the National Cartoonists Society, John has had work in major galleries around the world. His passion and dedication to his work surpassed a full-time pursuit and passed into the realm of obsession. He was barely able to accommodate the growing demand for his special pieces. John has been commissioned by many corporations including Pepsi Cola, IBM, ABC TV, the Dr. Seuss estate, the Rockefeller Group, and other individuals who sought out his unique style of artwork. In 1998, he had the opportunity to work with Gary Larson, the creator of The Far Side, and said, “it was truly an interesting experience!”. Some of the more notable owners of John’s work include Dudley Moore, Lionel Richie, Gerry Herman, Elton John, Shirley Maclaine, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Luciano Pavarotti, Barry Manilow,  Henry Kissinger, and many others. He received many awards and has been showcased in collections worldwide. John sadly passed away on October 13th, 2023. His legacy will live on in the over 300 humorous and inspiring lithographs, several poetry and coloring books, magazine articles, newsletters, comic strips, and more in his collection still being sold today.
