Decorum Journal

Decorum (n.) designates the view that there should be propriety, or fitness, in the way that a literary genre, its subject matter, its characters and actions, and the style of its narration and dialogue are matched to one another. It also conveys a sense propriety, good taste in conduct or appearance, as well as orderliness. Decorum is an independent, student-run, and scientific-cultural journal created by individuals who have risen from the literary society of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, but as time has passed, talented writers from other majors who have been interested in our mission have joined and shared their innovative ideas. What made Decorum a unique journal among its competitors is that the articles are published in English. This has catered to a wider spectrum of viewership, making our journey more vivid and at hand. In that time, we realized that students’ strong writing skills and high level of proficiency in English were overlooked, so from the beginning, we sought to create a stronger scientific foundation so that we can address issues of Literature and non-literature that we call Art & Culture. At the same time, we intended to provide an opportunity for students to make mistakes; a chance to make errors and learn through writing academic and literary articles. Alongside this, we wanted to analyze the cultural and social challenges and artistic elements of our society knowing that our target audience is not only domestic but also international, and we are eager to expand the zone of our influence.
