Deep River Folk School

Deep River Folk School focuses on 5 main topic areas: • Food • Shelter • Essential Skills • Understanding the Natural World • Building Healthy Communities/Connections. The Folk School draws on learnings from traditional cultures and equally from more modern technologies and insights. It is a place where people can meet, learn, share, support, and encourage each other to have the skills and resources to prepare for the future with all its uncertainties. Founded in 2019 by a diverse group of farmers, crafters, builders, health professionals, artisans, environmentalists, food enthusiasts, and self-sufficiency advocates, the Folk School continues to diversify its programming each year to meet the interest and needs of the greater community. Workshops are held in Franklinville, in the center of North Carolina on the Deep River about 27 miles directly south of Greensboro, 65 miles west of Raleigh, and 85 miles northeast of Charlotte. It is in close proximity to a significant portion of North Carolina and points beyond.
