Established in 2009 by Alan and Sheley DeGraw, DeGraw & DeGraw, P.C. is committed to providing exceptional legal services to its clients. Alan DeGraw earned a B.A. degree in Communication from Michigan State University while simultaneously working as a student manager with the MSU football team (working directly with some well known football names, like Nick Saban, Tyrone Willingham and Steve Furness). Mr. DeGraw received his Juris Doctorate from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago in 1989. He then became a member of the Michigan State Bar, and accepted an associate position with the Birmingham, Michigan law firm of Alan R. Miller, P.C. In 1992 Mr. DeGraw left Alan R. Miller, P.C. to become Division Counsel for National Steel Corporation’s Great Lakes Division, located in Ecorse and River Rouge, Michigan. Mr. DeGraw advanced to become Regional Counsel for National Steel in 1999, and took on additional responsibilities as the Manager of Labor Relations for the Great Lakes Division in 2000. In 2002 Mr. DeGraw joined Ford Motor Company’s Office of the General Counsel, where he practiced in the areas of employment, labor, government investigations, class actions and product liability. While at Ford, Mr. DeGraw chaired an internal cross functional e-discovery task force, and developed expertise regarding enterprise records management issues. Alan is an established speaker, and has given hundreds of presentations at seminars, trade associations and internal client groups. After leaving Ford, Alan, together with his wife Sheley, started the law firm of DeGraw & DeGraw, P.C.
