Dekel Greensoil LTD operates a plant for biological treatment of soils and sludge, The plant located in Neot Hovav IZ in the south of Israel. The biological treatment method is based on the ability of microorganisms (bacteria, fungi, etc.) to break down organic pollutants such as TPH- hydrocarbons derived from oil, PAH- more complex and simple aromatic hydrocarbons, and utilize them as a source of nutrition and energy and eventually convert them to -Carbon dioxide and water. Degradation of organic pollutants through biological treatment is possible in soils, sludge's and sewage based on the Best Available Techniques (BAT) Reference Document for Waste Treatment - Industrial Emissions Directive.
