The Delaware Academy of Medicine is a private, nonprofit organization founded in 1930. Our mission is to enhance the well-being of our community through education and the promotion of public health. Our educational initiatives span the spectrum from consumer health education to specialty education conferences. We provide a meeting place for the medical and dental professions, and related organizations. In addition, we provide financial support for medical and dental students, as well as maintain the State of Delaware's medical and dental archives collections.
The Delaware Academy of Medicine is a collaborative entity, closely engaged with area hospitals (ChristianaCare, St. Francis Hospital, Nemours, Tidal Health - Nanticoke, Bayhealth, and Beebe) and other academies including the Delaware Academy of Family Physicians, Delaware Academy of Physician Assistants, Delaware Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, and the Delaware Nurses Association. We also partner with the Delaware Health Science Alliance and the Widener University School of Law, as well as other specialty societies including the Delaware State Dental Society.
