The DELTA research group, coordinated by prof. Marina Marchisio Conte, is based at the Department of Molecular Biotechnology and Health Sciences of the University of Turin (Italy). It studies cognitive processes in digital learning environments, with particular attention to the teaching and learning of mathematics and STEM.
In particular, the research group studies and proposes digital methodologies for learning and teaching mathematics and STEM for secondary and higher education, using virtual learning environments integrated with advanced computing and automatic assessment systems. A major theme is the development of virtual learning communities: research focuses both on communities of students learning mathematics collaboratively guided by facilitating teachers and on communities of practice of teachers sharing and improving teaching strategies.
