De Coöperatie Deltawind is eind tachtiger jaren ontstaan op initiatief van eilandbewoners. Zij wilden voorzien in hun eigen energie, en richtten in augustus 1989 de Coöperatie Deltawind op.
Van initiatief tonen. Van duidelijke doelen stellen en van daadkracht. Deltawind staat nu voor het produceren van duurzaam opgewekte energie, in eigendom van de lokale bevolking, én het bevorderen van efficiënt energiegebruik.
