Deluxe Coffeeworks

Deluxe Coffeeworks was started by Judd Nicolay and Carl Wessel in Carl’s back yard in November 2009 after a discussion was had about starting a coffee company over beers at their local hang out as Judd was tired of not being able to find a good cup of coffee in Cape Town and Carl was keen to get out of the film industry after working his way up the ranks and into shareholder-ship of the company he’d been with for 10 years. Judd had been in the coffee industry since his formative years back in New Zealand with some of the biggest names in coffee being his mentors and with Carls drive, business savvy and his willingness to get stuck in to any task at hand made for the perfect combination to start Deluxe in the burgeoning Cape Town coffee Scene in 2009. Deluxe Coffeeworks was started with 2 primary driving forces being excellent consistent coffee at a reasonable price accompanied by hands on knowledgable service delivery. We strive to be pragmatic and as straightforward as possible while understanding that the entire environment in which the final product is made from the service area and cafe layout, appropriate machinery, informed managers and well trained barista’s will all have an impact on the outcome of every coffee served for which we are here to consult and assist at every step. Deluxe has grown from it’s first roastery cafe at 25 Church street in Cape Towns CBD to five branches spread across the City as well as one in Stellenbosch with the Head Quarters and Roastery Located in Paarden Eiland servicing over 400 wholesale clientele across the country and a roastery and 3 cafés serving the same quality and standards in Windhoek Namibia.
