Democracy First

Australian politics is broken. There is no leadership in the country. Nothing is being fixed. The country is drifting steadily towards decline on every front. Everyone knows it. We have paralysis in government, distrust of our institutions, capture of our political parties by career politicians, and widespread frustration amongst ordinary people. We are led by two historically exhausted parties that are no longer fit for purpose. In their place we need a new majorparty that is grounded in the mainstream centre of Australian life, and rejects the fringes of Left and Right and their destructive culturewars. Democracy First is our movement to revive Australian democracy by building a new major party oriented to solutions not ideology. We want to represent the 80% of Australians who know our system is broken and has to be fixed. We bring together people from across the progressive-conservative spectrum who know that creating enduring solutions is more important than perennial argument and division.
