Democritus Racing Team (DRT) is the Formula Student team of Democritus University of Thrace, based in Xanthi, Greece.
We are a constantly growing team of Undergraduate Engineering Students, who design, manufacture and race Formula race-cars.
Since its founding in 2015 and until 2021, the team was competing in the Combustion Vehicle class, but in September of 2021, DRT made the leap towards the Electric Vehicle Class.
During 2022 we successfully completed our 1st ever ⚡ electric race-car, with which we competed in the Rimac Group competition (FS Alpe Adria) in Croatia.
2024 was undoubtedly the most successful year for the team. For the first time, we managed to build a fully functional electric race car and compete in three different events: FS EAST, FS Czech, and FS Alpe Adria.
This year we proudly presented Elpida, our 4th and improved electric racecar, ready to race in Formula Student Czech, Formula Student Alpe Adria and Formula Student Greece in the summer of 2025.
