Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat)

Derasat is an independent think tank in the Kingdom of Bahrain dedicated to the pursuit of a more prosperous world for all. Through our forward-thinking research into strategic security and energy issues, we aim to generate new ideas and innovative solutions to regional and international challenges. We build bridges between differing perspectives by creating forums for open debate, using strategic insight to enhance understanding and encourage original thought. Our goals are to inform key decision-makers and interest groups, contribute to more effective policy-making, and encourage best practices. Sharing knowledge is one of our most important objectives, which is why we frequently conduct strategic studies in collaboration with national, regional, and international institutions. In addition to our wide range of research publications, our opinion pieces frequently appear in leading newspapers, sparking debate around important issues affecting the world. Derasat means ‘studies’ in Arabic. Our name reflects our dedication to conducting rigorous research and analysis in the pursuit of independent knowledge and understanding that can make a difference.
