Desousa Foundation

The foundation aims at carrying forward their dream of making Community Mental Health a reality and to take Mental Health and Wellness to the masses. A healthy mind is an essential part of a healthy human being. One must target authentic happiness along with a positive lifestyle to achieve holistic growth and development. The foundation aims to spread its wings and cater to the needs of everyone from young children to ageing population of the society. The ‘DE SOUSA FOUNDATION’ has been the brain child of Dr Avinash De Sousa and his wife Mrs. Jaya De Sousa. The foundation has been started in the memory of Late Prof. Dr. Alan De Sousa (1932-2008) (ex Prof and Head – Department of Psychiatry, Sir J. J. Group of Hospitals and Grant Medical College) and Late Prof. Dr. Mrs. Dhanalakshmi De Sousa (1938-2005) (ex Prof and Head – Department of Psychiatry, Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College and General Hospital), both senior psychiatrists and stalwarts of their era.
