The German Bible Society translates the biblical scriptures, develops and distributes innovative Bible editions, and opens up access to the message of the Bible for all people. It is an independent foundation. Together with the Evangelical Church in Germany, it publishes the Bible according to Martin Luther's translation. Internationally, it is responsible for the scholarly Bible editions in the original languages. In addition to Bible editions, the program includes other books and media on the subject of the Bible.
It develops creative Bible projects with the regional Bible societies in Germany.
The World Bible Aid of the German Bible Society, together with the United Bible Societies, supports the translation and distribution of the Bible worldwide.
