Developh is a research & arts institution for critical technologies in the Philippines and online, tending an archipelagic internet. Orienting the third world internet towards more interdependent & intentional technologies and networks, we are tropical technologists that seek to visibilize and question how our infrastructures, from land, sea, to body, have been exploited and fragmented by technology, but might also be repaired & reclaimed by it. Engaged in art, academic, and technological discourses around labor, climate, and media, our thinking & work exists between the human & non-human, the local & global, offline & online, natural & artificial, and the practical & speculative. In many ways, Developh has always been a container for ourselves as people immersed in increasingly technologically-mediated worlds. Developh has emerged out of necessity: we wish to steward technological narratives from the third world that center symbiosis, progress, and intimacy without falling into exploitation, dominance, and empire.
