Development Education Research Centre (DERC)

The Development Education Research Centre (DERC) is a world leading research centre for development education, global learning, education for sustainable development and global citizenship education. Based in the IOE, UCL's Faculty of Education and Society and established in 2006, we act as a hub for knowledge generation, quality output and teaching for an ethically sustainable and just future. DERC runs a fully online Master's programme, the MA in Global Learning, which introduces students to a range of perspectives and approaches in global learning, global citizenship education and education for sustainable development. We supervise a number of doctoral students who undertake research on global edcation related themes across the world. DERC also hosts two online short courses, Global Education for Teachers and Educating for Sustainable Development in Schools and Universities. DERC provides the secretariat for the Academic Network on Global Education and Learning (ANGEL), the international forum and membership network dedicated to examining the research on, and practice of, global education, global citizenship education, development education and education for sustainable development. https://angel-network.net/get-involved
