Avdelningen Development Office uppdrag är knutet till Lunds universitets strategiska plan, som föreskriver en aktiv utveckling av samverkan med omvärlden, bland annat näringsliv och alumner.
Avdelningen ska bidra till ökad finansiering från den privata sektorn, för att upprätthålla Lunds universitets ställning som ett universitet i världsklass. Arbetet bedrivs i nära samarbete med universitetsledningen, fakulteterna och andra verksamheter inom Lunds universitet.
