Devoted to Children Foundation

Devoted to Children is a registered 501(c)3 organization aimed at helping the most vulnerable children of Cayes Jacmel, Haiti. The main focus of our work is the D2C Family Home, supporting children who have either been orphaned, abandoned, and/or enslaved (restavek) and to be raised within their own community rather than adopted out. Haiti is already the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. The 7.0 earthquake ravaged the already fragile Haiti, leaving thousands of children destitute. These children have been left without any resources to help them, and have become the most vulnerable victims. Without some aid, these children will continue to live on a day by day basis unsure about their future. While providing a home for them and strengthening community ties, they will be able to reach their full potential. Our mission is to meet the immediate needs for the most vulnerable children in the village of Cayes Jacmel, Haiti by creating a family home and integrating yoga, a well documented source for healing trauma and stress, in order to empower them to become independent and thriving community members. Additionally, we assist the community in creating sustainable, long term projects in an attempt to end the cycle of poverty, which directly affects the lives of the children.
