In 2016, the Young Immunologists (YI) group was founded by the German Society for Immunology (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Immunologie; DGfI) to connect and support early-career scientists in immunology. By encouraging their career development, providing networking opportunities, and tackling common problems which many young researchers face, the overall aim of this group is to represent the interests of young immunologists throughout or with a strong connection to Germany.
