Dhaka Commerce College Began its journey formally in 1989 by setting up its signboard at King Khaled Institute. Initially the institution operated in rented houses at Lalmatia and Dhanmondi. In January 1995 it shifted to its own campus at Mirpur . Shamsul Huda, FCA took charge as the first Principal of the college. Professor Kazi Faruky took over as the Principal in deputation in August 1990 and continued up to September 2010. Currently he is the Honorary Professor of the institution.
Dhaka Commerce College is the first self-financed, politics and smoking free institution of Bangladesh.
