I began my professional career in 1972 as an Architect with DLR Group that was founded as an Architecture and Engineering Firm in 1966 by Irv Dana, Jim Roubal and Bill Larson (DLR). The founders left a family-owned business to realize the benefits of owning a business. In 1975, they initiated an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) soon after the United States passed ESOP legislation. On Dec 31, 1985, the founders sold their ownership to the DLR Group ESOP, and I became the President, representing the Employee Owners. As President, I led the Company through a 7year leveraged buyout as a C corporation and later converted the company to a Sub Chapter S KSOP in 2004 in addition to forming a deferred compensation plan (iShares) and stock appreciation rights (SARS). I formed dHALLOCK LLC to help Business Owners and their Employees realize a “Win Win” business relationship I experienced at DLR Group. Creating a strategic business model for Business Owners and their Employees that will provide opportunities for everyone to benefit and grow is a passion of mine. As an Employee Owner Consultant, I offer my services with 50 years of experience to create a Plan for ownership transition; to serve as a Trustee for an Employee Stock Ownership Plan; or to serve as an outside Board Member or Advisory Board Member.
