Dharma Endowment Fund (DEF)

The Dharma Endowment Fund (DEF) is an independent philanthropic organisation headquartered in London with a global mission to preserve and promote Dharmic culture and ultimately uplift society. DEF collaborates with a diverse network of partners to fund and support initiatives that create lasting impact. As both a funder and an influencer, DEF plays a catalytic role in bridging ancient wisdom with modern knowledge to drive systemic change at scale. Our work focuses on five core areas rooted in Dharmic tradition: education, health & relief, places of worship, and animal & environmental protection. We also work closely with donors to ensure their contributions continue to give in perpetuity. This is achieved by raising a permanent capital base through tax-optimised donations and investing it in Dharmically screened financial instruments to generate returns. These returns fund global Dharmic initiatives through grants, while the original capital is preserved. Additionally, we provide ongoing support and monitoring to ensure long-term success.
