Dierendonckblancke architecten

Dierendonckblancke architecten is based in Ghent and was founded in 1999 by Alexander Dierendonck (° 1971) and Isabelle Blancke (° 1973). The office currently has 21 employees. The office portfolio includes projects of several scales and programs such as cultural centers (Avelgem, Beselare, Kasterlee, Lubbeek), schools (Riemst, Antwerp), care projects (Gierle, Genk), group homes (Ghent, Antwerp) and private homes (12K, Gelukstraat). The office first drew public attention with their community center Spikkerelle in Avelgem, which was nominated for the 2009 EU Mies Award. From then on, the work of the office became increasingly known. Among other prizes the office has been nominated several times for the EU Mies Award, Belgian Building Awards and FAB Awards. The work of Dierendonckblancke has been exhibited in several exhibitions in Brussels, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Madrid, London and Sao Paolo. The work of the office was recently exposed in a monographic exhibition, 'Dierendonckblancke, Praxis' at the Centre for Fine Arts in Brussel.
