Welcome to Different Divorce – Mediation Services Divorce and separation can be one of life’s most challenging transitions, but it doesn’t have to be a battlefield. At Different Divorce, I, Cherene Rabie, an accredited mediator, help couples navigate this process in a way that minimizes conflict and prioritizes the well-being of everyone involved. While some believe that divorce must be settled in court, mediation offers a more constructive, cost-effective, and emotionally supportive way to resolve issues such as parenting plans, maintenance agreements, and division of assets. A Guided Approach to Divorce & Separation My goal is to assist both married and unmarried couples with children in reaching mutually beneficial agreements that ensure stability and fairness. Parenting plans, in particular, play a crucial role in helping co-parents set clear expectations and avoid future disputes. According to the Children’s Act, parents are encouraged to first attempt a mediated agreement before approaching the court. A well-structured plan can be registered with the Family Advocate’s Office and made an official court order, providing long-term clarity and protection for both parents and children. Through mediation, I help couples reduce stress, maintain control over their decisions, and avoid costly litigation. My approach is hands-on, ensuring that every family I work with receives the guidance and support they need for a smoother transition.
