A specific learning disability [SLD] is a difficulty that interferes with a student's ability to listen, think, speak, write, spell, or do mathematical calculations.
Dyslexia is a form of SLD which impairs a child's ability to read and write. If not addressed, this affects their performance in school, life and subsequently, their career.
While SLD cannot be cured, there are avenues for children to cope with their difficulties by accessing different learning methodologies and learning aids.
