Progressive Changemakers: Diversity, Inclusion, and the Future of Work is a 7-week course delving into the vital intersection of diversity, inclusion, and the evolving landscape of work in organizations. Exploring remote and hybrid working, the gig economy, digitization, automation, and social sustainability, this course equips participants to navigate these contexts. Why Diversity & Inclusion? Understanding diversity and inclusion offers a lens to navigate our interconnected global society. Organizations adapting to diverse workforces and customer bases benefit. This study reveals insights into cultural nuances, fostering the cultural intelligence crucial for thriving in diverse settings and engaging with a global clientele. Moreover, this course emphasizes how diversity and inclusion positively impact organizational performance. Research consistently showcases how inclusive environments spur creativity, innovation, and problem-solving. By integrating diverse perspectives, organizations develop comprehensive solutions to complex challenges, preparing students to lead high-performing teams and drive future organizational success. Teaching Approach: Employing a constructivist teaching method, students construct knowledge guided by the instructor. The course blends self-study with interactive sessions, featuring practical exercises, case discussions, simulations, and hands-on workshops. A special full-day workshop equips students with practical skills for upcoming assignments, merging theory with real-world application. Week 3 features a panel discussion with diverse societal partners, allowing students to shape discussion topics.
