🏛️ Affiliated with the Electrical Energy Systems group at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU Eindhoven), the Digi-PES Lab aims to enable an energy transition of electrical energy systems towards the future integrated energy system. Our laboratory provides a cyber-physical ecosystem where students and researchers collaborate to explore innovations in various energy-related aspects of:
🔹 Dynamics and stability of inverter-based nano- and micro-grids.
🔹 Stochastic optimization for local energy communities.
🔹 Self-adaptive market integration strategies.
🔹 Advanced grid-edge monitoring and control methodologies.
🔹 Big data analytics and Internet-of-Things (IoT) integration, supporting comprehensive, data-driven, and interdependent models of energy system integration.
🖥️ The lab hosts a dedicated digital twin platform based on a microgrid-oriented real-time digital simulator with basic features, including real-time adaptability, observability, and predictability. Enabling such a digital twin platform will ease the validation of the proposed scientific (stability analysis and control) studies with detailed models or even hardware components, i.e., hardware-in-the-loop simulations. This allows the rapid prototyping of various software, hardware, and twin models rapidly while exploring insight into their interactions with the electricity grid.
