Digital Advanced Design

"Digital Advanced Design: technologies, processes, and tools" is the name of Spoke 1 of the Extended Partnership "MICS - Made in Italy Circular and Sustainable". MICS is an ambitious project funded by the European Union through the PNRR (National Recovery and Resilience Plan). It brings together 25 partners, including universities, research centres, and companies from the Fashion, Furniture, and Automation sectors, to promote a more sustainable and competitive Italian industry. Through 8 strategic thematic areas (Spokes), MICS is developing innovative solutions to address the challenges of the ecological transition. Among these, Spoke 1 is dedicated to "Digital Advanced Design" and is at the forefront of research and innovation, exploring the potential of digital design to guide the sustainable transformation of Made in Italy. As Spoke 1, through 10 multidisciplinary projects involving 11 of the MICS partners, we investigate innovative solutions ranging from virtual prototyping to the design of eco-compatible materials, up to the creation of digital platforms for collaboration and traceability. Our approach is based on four strategic clusters to which the projects under development refer: 1. Digital Design for Manufacturing 2. Digital Design for Advanced Interaction 3. Digital Design for Circular Materials 4. Digital Design for Knowledge Sharing Our vision is that of an Italian industry at the forefront, capable of combining the excellence of Made in Italy with environmental sustainability and global competitiveness.
