The Digital Convergence Initiative (DCI) is the global initiative for the digital transformation of social protection systems. Launched in 2021 as part of the USP2030 partnership, the DCI is an open and collaborative platform for governments, development partners, civil society organizations and the private sector united by a shared vision: expanding the coverage of social protection and enhancing its delivery through inclusive, interoperable digital systems.
The DCI currently works in four action areas:
1. Knowledge generation and sharing
2. Developing technical standards to promote interoperability
3. Supporting countries in their digital transformation journeys
4. Capacity development for digital social protection
DCI also offers a crosscutting AI Hub to support the responsible use of AI in social protection.
The Initiative welcomes contributions and engagement from diverse stakeholders and evolves dynamically through partnerships.
