Digital Fabrication Lab

The Digital Fabrication Lab is characterized by an integrated system of digital fabrication tools controlled by numerical control, coordinated by open-source software platforms. Specifically, the lab includes equipment such as FDM and LDM 3D printers, CNC machines, 3D scanners, mixing machines (for mortars, clays, geopolymers), workbenches, next-generation workstations, and 3D modeling and performance analysis software. The purpose of the Digital Fabrication Lab is to promote and develop advanced research projects, innovative teaching, and third mission activities. The research fields include: Digital fabrication; 3D modeling and multi-performance analysis, also supported by artificial intelligence (structural, thermal, and acoustic analysis, optimization, Life Cycle Assessment), and the development of new materials and building components.
