About Direct Fresh Limited
Direct Fresh Limited (DFL) was formed in 2012 and provides food and agro products via an online platform with an in-house direct-to-home (DTH) delivery channel. In 2018 Bangladesh had a sudden influx of close to a million refugees in the southern part of the country, and DFL saw the potential to help thousands of people while sustaining a business. The company pivoted from a B2C to a B2B model to service the Rohingya refugee crisis in Myanmar. Currently, DFL is one of the largest food and necessities suppliers to the Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar, working closely with international aid organizations such as WFP, UNHCR, and UNDP. Amar Dokan – A Direct Fresh initiative –has paved the way for the incorporation of integrated payroll, retail and financial solutions, along with the replication of the ‘Fair Price’ concept through the country’s RMG sector. The project succeeded in successfully setting up the company’s flagship retail outlets within the premises of various factories, and the launch of this program has enabled and empowered the factory workers to gain access to high-quality basic essentials at very affordable prices. It also granted them the provision of interest-free monthly credit facilities at these retail stores. Apart from that, DFL has been the top grocery and food supplier for some international hotel chains, super shops and convenience stores, and many prominent restaurants and café in the country. With annual consistent sales revenue of over USD17 million, DFL is now in the process of expanding into other food verticals.
