Disbrow Iannuzzi Architects

Disbrow Iannuzzi Architects is an interdisciplinary design studio engaged in the practices of architecture, interior design, and architect led design-build. Located in Ferndale, Michigan, the office was founded by Jonathan Disbrow and David Iannuzzi and focuses on design at all scales including custom homes and housing, restaurants, cultural and arts spaces, and commercial workspaces. Our work is characterized by compositional rigor, technical dexterity, and strong organizing ideas. Our focus is on innovative design solutions backed by extensive research, the art of making, and environmental stewardship. We honor our relationships with clients and the environment by aiming to enhance life through good design that is simple, elegant, and thoughtful. We aim to foster the growth and education of the next generation of architects through a culture of design excellence, mentorship, and community involvement. This perspective drives a vibrant energy that draws on each person’s interests and talents, leading to authentic and enduring designs that attract discerning clients both locally and nationwide. We emphasize a culture of mutual respect and collaborative leadership in which our diverse perspectives create spaces and environments that are greater than the sum of their parts. Our office and principals have been recognized nationally and internationally through peer-reviewed awards and leading design publications. Recent honors include multiple 2023 American Institute of Architecture (AIA) awards from Michigan, Chicago, and Detroit chapters, the UNESCO Prix Versailles, and Architizer A+ Award. The studio’s work has been featured in publications including Azure, Aspire, Popular Mechanics, Metal Architecture, Concept (South Korea), Grand Designs (UK), Dezeen, and the Robb Report among others.
