The Departamento de Ingeniería de Sistemas y Computación (DISC) at the Universidad Católica del Norte (UCN) serves as a hub for knowledge generation in the region, specializing in fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, cybersecurity, and software engineering, among other areas within computer science.
Owing to its geographical location, DISC UCN leverages state-of-the-art knowledge in various sectors including mining and metallurgy, energy and electronics, cybersecurity, health, automation and robotics, agriculture in arid zones, social computing, and biotechnology. Currently, the department offers two bachelor’s degrees in computer engineering, a scientific program in informatics engineering, and is in the process of launching a doctoral program in computational intelligence.
