akin is a vibrant platform designed to connect creativity seekers with local artistic activities, classes, and event spaces in NYC. Our platform features a curated list of workshops, art classes, cultural events, and unique spaces where you can dive into your passions and meet like-minded creatives. The Creative Directory was born out of a longing to reconnect with the curiosity and creativity that we had in our childhoods. We wanted to find spaces that encouraged us to play again and communities that made us feel safe to try new things. We wanted to meet friends, old or new, that made us feel welcome, connected, and excited. The Creative Directory has done the hard work for you: we’ve done the research, we’ve vetted the spaces, and we compiled a list of community-driven places in NYC that offer you a chance to learn a new creative skill, find your community, and reach your creative potential!
