Here at Disop, we have been developing formulas and manufacturing eye care and contact lenses care products for many years.
Our journey began in the 1970s when the company’s founder, Javier Chamorro Tormo, travelled to England to learn about an invention that at the time seemed a thing of science fiction. This groundbreaking concept was a special lens that could be placed inside the eye to improve the wearer’s eyesight – what we now know as contact lenses. Javier came back to Spain thrilled by this revolutionary idea and set out to visit optician after optician explaining the advantages it
would bring and its potential to improve millions of lives.
In the early years, the liquid required to keep those lenses in good condition had to be imported from abroad, making it costly and difficult to come by. This is what inspired Javier to set up his own liquid production factory: Disop.
Javier’s son took over as manager in the 80s and the company grew to become a benchmark manufacturer on the Spanish eye care scene.
Research by Disop
Our laboratory develops new, innovative formulas for eye care and contact lenses care products. We work with state-of-the-art ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and have registered several patents.
We recently added a new active agent to our catalogue -cannabidiol- , with which we have launched a new range of products and broadened our commercial activity to reach new markets.
We also care about animal well-being, so we have developed a new pet product concept that is free from toxic substances, petrochemicals and fragrances.
