CV Districo werd opgericht in 1971 en was oorspronkelijk een aankoopgroepering voor zelfstandige supermarkten en buurtwinkels.
Door de jaren heen werden echter meer en meer drankhandelaars lid van Districo en zo ontstonden twee duidelijk gescheiden divisies; een divisie supermarkten en een divisie drankhandelaars.
De divisie van drankhandelaars groeide zo sterk dat in 2012 een vergaande herstructurering werd doorgevoerd waarbij de divisie supermarkten en buurtwinkels stopgezet werd. Sinds 2012 ligt de focus van cvba Districo dus helemaal op de drankhandelaars en drinkcenters.
Deze beslissing maakte een grotere servicegraad mogelijk voor onze leden / drankenspeciaalzaken.
