What's in a Name? The name "DiveInSTEAM" captures the essence of our mission in two ways. First, it's an open invitation to dive into the fascinating world of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). Second, it's a nod to our commitment to championing diversity within these fields. Why We Exist Despite the incredible advancements in STEAM, there's a glaring gap: the underrepresentation of students from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds. Why does this gap exist? Often, it's the absence of role models—people who've walked similar paths, who speak the same language or share the same cultural nuances. Our Mission DiveInSTEAM is here to fill that void. Our primary focus is to offer personalized, long-term mentorship programs aimed at high school students interested in STEAM careers. But we don't just stop there. Our in-school and extracurricular workshops expose students to real-world applications of STEAM, giving them a taste of what lies ahead. Who Makes This Possible? Our programs are brought to life by a dedicated team of volunteer STEAM professionals. These mentors not only offer their expertise but also share their personal journeys—offering insights, inspiration, and most importantly, letting students know they belong in the world of STEAM.
