Derek O'Keeffe has had the ultimate pleasure to be a part of the entertainment industry since 1994. From early days of working in Cork as a pub and club DJ progressing to having my own day time radio program when pirate radio was king in the late 90’s and working on road shows for Heineken, Guinness, Ford and AIB in Ireland.
Derek progressed into the UK market and then Spain where he worked in mainland, The Balearic's and The canaries. He was known for his “Radio Voice” and in the mid 00’s he made my first commercial. This led to many wonderful experiences including being the voice for Miss Ireland, Xpose Live, Toys for big boys and many more in the RDS in Dublin.
Believing this was all behind him Derek had the pleasure of meeting the CEO of a very large UK organization last November. He was listening to a new advert and was asked in conversation what was his opinion. He told him the voice was completely wrong and lacking passion and excitement. As a joke he said and I guess you could do better and of course Derek said yes if you have the script. The next as they say is history and a week later I was in a recording studio in London.
Once again Derek has been catapulted back to a very high level and it’s with excitement and pride he moves forward into 2018 He completed 4 radio adverts in quarter one of 2018 and currently in discussions for providing his voice for a new TV show starting this summer in England. Derek is delighted to be attached with the biggest agency in the UK and Europe. Watch this space. The best is yet to come.
