Mehr als 90 Mitarbeitende forschen in Göttingen auf dem Gebiet der Aeroelastik und an den damit verbundenen Technologien für die Flugzeuge, Hubschrauber und Windenergieanlagen von morgen. Wir untersuchen die Umströmung flexibler Strukturen und die daraus entstehenden Wechselwirkungsphänomene, wie man sie aus dem Alltag vom Flattern einer Fahne im Wind kennt. Unsere multidisziplinäre Forschung basiert auf Experimenten am Boden, im Flug und in Windkanälen sowie aufwendige Simulationen auf Hochleistungscomputern. Wir unterstützen die Industrie weltweit bei herausfordernden Projekten. More than 90 employees conduct research in Göttingen in the field of aeroelasticity and related technologies for tomorrow's airplanes, helicopters and wind turbines. We study the flow around flexible structures and the resulting interaction phenomena, as we know them from everyday life from the fluttering of a flag in the wind. Our multidisciplinary research is based on experiments on the ground, in flight and in wind tunnels as well as complex simulations on high-performance computers.
