About DM3D
DM3D is an advanced digital manufacturing company that uses its patented blown-powder metal Directed Energy Deposition (DED) technology coupled with fully integrated machining, heat treatment and inspection infrastructure to offer a one-stop-shop manufacturing solution for critical metal components. We have recently printed the largest metal DED part, a 10-foot-tall liner for NASA’s RS-25 engine and have manufactured and supplied over 30,000 parts to customers in the aviation, defense, space, energy and industrial sectors. We have printed parts as large as 10x10x10 feet with over 30 different alloys for both new build parts and for repairs. Our blown-powder metal DED system offers several important advantages for both new build parts and for repair. • Up to 3x higher precision compared to wire-arc DED which leads to printing more intricate shapes and lower machining time/cost and waste • Up to 30x higher productivity compared to laser powder bed fusion and 3-5x lower cost • Up to 1.5x better properties than investment casting and significantly lower cost and lead times compared to low-volume castings and forgings Our team is led by a group of metallurgists, mechanical and controls engineers who have decades of experience in metal AM and this is reflected in the highly engineered metal components that we manufacture. We are ISO 9001, NADCAP, JCP, DD2345, GE S-1000, ITAR certified and also hold a FAA Certified Station Repair license to ensure repeatable, highest-quality manufacturing for your metal parts. We offer an ideal replacement for castings and forgings, especially for metal parts that are large and complex, have low/medium volume, have long lead times and are thus expensive. In many cases, we have seen >50% shorter lead times and >25% cost reduction for such metal parts.
