Department of Management Studies (DoMS) at Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) is part of the IIT Schools of Management. DoMS, IIT Roorkee was established in 1998 to impart education in Management Science. The MBA programme was launched by the institute to reflect the present-day needs of dynamic business and economic scenario and to harvest the talent of best technocrats of the nation by infusing the management concepts in them to face the challenges of the corporate world. It takes the onus to prepare a breed of managers who have the courage, skills, and resilience to excel in the corporate world. In 2018, DoMS, IIT Roorkee was ranked 9th in the NIRF Rankings. In 2017, DoMS, IIT Roorkee was ranked 8th in the NIRF Rankings. In 2016, DoMS, IIT Roorkee was ranked 8th among Top 100 B-Schools in India by Careers360. In 2012, DoMS, IIT Roorkee was ranked 12th among B-Schools in India by Business Today and DoMS, IIT Roorkee was also ranked 10th in 2013 by Careers360. In 2013, DoMS, IIT Roorkee was also conferred with “B-School Leadership Award” by Bloomberg-UTV in B-School Excellence Awards. Human Resources In its quest to promote excellence in management, DoMS, IIT Roorkee also offers autonomous doctoral programme. The degree of Ph. D. is granted on completion of the programme. The primary objective of the programme is to prepare young men and women for challenging opportunities in teaching, research, and consulting. The programme is designed to impart knowledge, develop skills, and create attitudes relevant to teaching, research and consulting. The programme requires coursework in general management as well as in the area of specialization, followed by a doctoral level dissertation.
