Oral health specialists recommend changing your toothbrush every 3 months for the fact that the bristles get worn and not only damage gums and gain bacteria, but also don’t clean properly anymore. But why change the whole toothbrush if it’s only the bristles that get worn? Aren’t we creating unnecessary plastic for our planet? Every year, 3.5 billion toothbrushes are sold, equivalent to around 60.000 Tons of plastic that will eventually end up in unrecyclable waste management systems. These were the questions that made us create Doop. 14 - Worldwide patented (Europe, USA and China), doop is a responsibly designed head removable, recyclable and recycled toothbrush that will permit you to dispose of only its head when worn. Also, it is made of FDA approved polypropylene, a light, durable, waterproof, food-safe and washable material which guarantees many years of usage. It was designed with an eco-design concept that minimizes the effects on the environment. In a 5-year usage, Doop improves in 45% the water consumption, 39% the total energy demand and 60% the solid waste. It is also compliant with the United Nations SDGs and contributes to five of them: decent work and economic growth, responsible consumption and production, climate action, life below water, peace, justice and strong institutions.
